Description
Chana dal is a kitchen staple across Indian homes — it turns up in everyday dal tadka, a quick sabzi, festive puran poli, and even crisp dal vada. It cooks into a slightly nutty, hearty dal that pairs well with rice, roti or paratha, and holds its shape nicely in curries and snacks alike.
Better Nutrition Biofortified Chana Dal is made from specially selected seeds that are naturally higher in essential nutrients, grown in partnership with a network of over 20,000 farming communities trained in nutrient-focused, biofortified agriculture. It is an unpolished chana dal with up to 2X Zinc & Iron — tested at more than 62 ppm Zinc and more than 42 ppm Iron per batch, along with naturally occurring protein and fibre.
Each 100 g serving provides around 25 g of protein, meeting close to 42% of an adult's protein RDA, making it a good source of plant-based protein that helps build and repair body tissues and supports overall growth. The dal is also Non-GMO, naturally grown without synthetic pesticides, and is free from added colour, preservatives and synthetic polishing agents.
Zinc supports the immune system and normal cognitive function, while Iron contributes to energy production and helps reduce fatigue — two nutrients that many everyday Indian diets fall short on. Getting them from a staple you already cook every week, rather than from a supplement, is what makes biofortified dal genuinely useful.
A simple dal, grown a little differently—with better seeds and a focus on better nutrition.
TriNutrimaxx™️
Agronomic Biofortification is our farm-level technique for naturally increasing the nutritional value of crops by combining the right biofortified seed, nutrient-rich soil and precision agronomic practices through the crop cycle. Instead of adding nutrients after harvest, we work from the beginning of the farming process to help the plant access and retain higher levels of naturally occurring nutrients such as iron, zinc and protein. The approach integrates seed selection, soil and crop management, farmer protocols, and testing at harvest, creating a controlled seed-to-harvest nutrition system rather than relying on fortification at the food-processing stage!
